Have you ever felt like your battery is super low and you struggle to get up in the morning and start your day? Sometimes it’s sickness related or other times stress, and even depression can cause you to not have as much “pep in your step” as you would like.
I think the saying it’s ok to not be ok, is a very healthy trend. To be ok with feeling sad or lonely. Don’t need to be fake, and gloss over emotions. Just show up.
I am really good at pushing through hard times and sucking it up but I could grow in taking a time out and checking in on my emotions.
Last night driving home after dropping our adult son at his house I had my sunroof open and just looked up glad the stars and I could feel myself relax. I then thought wow, how long has it been since I’ve just sat and looked up? I really stopped to enjoy the cool breeze, the quiet night sky and stars twinkling.
If we don’t take the time to pause and sit with ourselves we can get lost in the shuffle and grow numb. But when we do self care, meditate, exercise, and give back to our community we can become our full self. And when we do that? We can let our inner light shine and go from surviving to thriving.
This painting is available- canvas, can come with a mini display easel, $125
P.s. I highly recommend a mentor and psychologist/therapist, and trip to your pcp if you are struggling for a longer period of time. You don’t have to go through hard times alone. Ask for help.
