Moses of Her People

I painted a portrait of Harriet Tubman, weaving history into the work itself.
Pages from period books are layered into the piece—voices from the past that highlight what life was like in her time.
I chose a raw linen canvas intentionally. Its earth-toned texture represents the dirt trails she walked, guiding others to freedom through the Underground Railroad.
This 24x32” painting is not just an image, but a reminder of courage, resilience, and faith. Harriet Tubman lived as a light in the darkest of times—a true Moses of her people.
May we carry her legacy forward with the same strength and unshakable hope.
