The Notebook

Earlier this week I posted on social media about how movies can speak to us and potentially change our lives. One such movie that I was not expecting to effect me like it did was The Notebook.

The specific scene where Allie wakes up and finds notes leading her to a studio that Noah made just for her.

What caught me off guard was when I was watching it I internally said, “she is the luckiest girl in the world.” To be a grown up and have a space where she can create? But that’s unrealistic.

See at the time I was a stay at home mom with two kids and my husband and I were stationed on the east coast. It was a very full life.

I didn’t think much of this movie except that it was a sweet love story that I ugly cried at the end. But what I didn’t know this movie did was awaken me to a deep desire I didn’t even know I had?!

Fast forward to 2024… and I’m finishing up my fine arts degree. I took a 26 year gap and now it’s my senior year next year. And not only do I have a home studio, but I also have a studio in San Francisco. So now it makes sense why I always feel like the luckiest girl in the world. I’m living out my dream that was sparked by a simple scene in a movie.

What movie has inspired you?!
